John Watt

President & CEO 

John founded JWA Public Affairs in 1999 after serving eight years in the Oregon State House of Representatives. Prior to his involvement in politics, John managed several successful businesses. He was involved in the personal computer business at its advent, providing business solutions to clients in Southern Oregon. John’s experience in small business and as a former Oregon legislator positions him well to effectively advocate for and provide counsel to both non-profit and for-profit businesses in Oregon. Dedicated to a strong community with a healthy business presence, he serves on a number of civic boards in Medford.

John enjoys spending his free time with family, on the course playing a round of golf with friends, in the kitchen cooking, listening to music, traveling, or reading a good book.

Sean Tate

Vice President of Business Development & Public Affairs 

As JWA’s Vice President of Business Development and Public Affairs, Sean is on the front lines in Salem, in the Governor's office and in Oregon's House of Representatives and Senate. Sean represents and advances our client interests and ideas, working hard to create, leverage, and expand their public profiles with Oregon's policy makers. Sean has developed strong relationships with legislators, legislative leadership, and colleagues from all political parties and is well respected for his deep knowledge of Oregon's political process. He is active in business, transportation and healthcare advocacy circles.

Having spent more than 20 years in business development and sales management prior to JWA, Sean is experienced in understanding client issues and is focused on delivering results through effective communication with clients and policy makers.

Sean lives with his wife, Jami, in the central Willamette Valley and enjoys many of the recreational opportunities Oregon offers, including golf, cycling, and fishing.

Cathy Watt

Chief Financial Officer

Cathy contributes her research and communication skills as well as organizational expertise to the JWA team. In addition to her operational and managerial support of JWA, Cathy helps keep our clients and friends up to date on current events through our News & Opinion service. Having worked for both the legislative and executive branches of government, she is well versed in the protocol of Oregon politics.

Along with her husband, John, she also enjoys family and travel.



Scott Lubich

Vice President of Operations

Scott brings more than 25 years of management and systems experience to the team, providing critical support with client research, communications, and fieldwork. His experience has proven to him the importance of building a strong communication channel between our clients, our partners, and JWA. Scott has served on several volunteer boards in the Rogue Valley and understands the challenges facing Southern Oregonians.

He and his wife, Laura, enjoy living in rural Jackson County with their horses, dog, and barn cat.

Al Densmore

Vice President / Community Development

Al has more than four decades of experience in public and community service as well as unique expertise in areas of local government procedures and transportation programs. Al joined JWA following a very successful 36-year career as an insurance and financial consultant. Al also has had a distinguished career in public service, having served as an Oregon State Representative, Mayor, and Council member in Medford and as a board member of many community organizations.

He and his wife, Sally, love to travel and spend time with children and grandchildren.

Dave Dotterrer

Senior Account Executive, Project Development

Dave brings his experience as a career Marine, consultant with the Defense Department, and budget analyst in the Oregon State Legislature to the JWA team. During his career in the Marine Corps, Dave commanded units of up to 1,300 Marines and managed multi-million dollar budgets, retiring as a Colonel. Dave earned two Masters Degrees, in military history and national security strategy and policy.

His contribution working in the strategic planning arena in the Pentagon has given him expertise in strategic planning and policy development. He also has an extensive background in crisis and disaster preparedness planning and operations.

As a consultant with the Defense Department, he worked on operational analysis and test issues as well as leading teams, which prepared proposals to the Defense Department.

Finally, as a budget coordinator and analyst, he gained extensive experience in State budget and policy issues as well as the politics of Salem.

He enjoys spending time with his wife, Kerry, and their two children.

Greg Lemhouse

Senior Account Executive, Client Management

With two decades of experience in law enforcement and experience in international business development, non-profit leadership and as an elected official himself, Greg has a background and skill set that can help people and organizations achieve their goals.

A native Oregonian, born in Portland, raised in Salem and a resident of Southern Oregon for over 20 years, Greg has a strong connection to our state and a deep and varied background. After spending two decades in law enforcement, Greg worked for a local start-up, conducting international business development by opening up new markets and working with foreign governments to create strong partnerships. He has also served in leadership positions for local non-profits, assisting each in expanding their services, building relationships and strengthening their organizations. As a successful elected official, Greg is currently serving his third, four-year term on the Ashland City Council, where he deals with complex issues in a very politically active community.

As a Senior Account Executive with JWA Pubic Affairs, Greg helps individuals and organizations achieve their legislative goals through effective issue advocacy with elected officials and government agencies. Greg also works with organizations to achieve their goals by providing consultation in public affairs, government relations and fundraising. In addition, Greg utilizes his extensive background as a law enforcement executive and trainer and as a long time government official to consult client organizations with emergency preparedness and crisis action planning.

Greg and his wife Jessica have been married for 20 years and currently have three teenagers, with one in college and two still active in the Ashland School District. Greg is a lifelong lover of sports and coaches football and basketball at Ashland High School. Greg enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with his family.
